Chained by fate

"Yaya! Put that back!" The green haired boy cried in exasperation as his friend, a petite purple haired girl, picked at the lock of a silver pocketwatch.
"Don't be such a spoil sport Shizun" She replied. Examining the watch she traced ornate patterns on the surface, feeling the grooves on the cool metal.
"H-how did you manage to take that from Kairos without him noticing anyway?"
"He was asleep. So I just ... took it."
"From around his neck? That is his most prized possession! I think he will notice it missing!"
Yaya laughed "Don't be silly. He won't notice. NOt for a couple of hours at least. ... Why do you think it's so important to him?"
Shizun sat beside Yaya and watched her play with the watch. "He thinks it will lead him to his mother right? Not his real mother, t-the dragon?"
"Chronos?"
"Yeah"
"How do you know?"
"He told me"
She raised an eyebrow. "Just like that?"
"Well I did ask" Yaya could tell he was getting nervous. He didn't want to face the dragonslayers wrath and Yaya was so troublesome. He didn't want trouble. Not at all.
"I wonder if this thing can do anything?"
"What do you mean?" He questioned.
"Well he can travel in time without it. And i'm pretty sure Chronos wouldn't give him an ordinary watch."
Shizun took in what Yaya said. Pondering the mystery of the watch. She was right. Even if it somehow did lead Kairos to Chronos, why not just give him a map? Did this watch hold some other secret?
"You have a good point. But it's not our place to know Yaya. We have to take it back to Kairos"
Yaya huffed in response. "Pssh yeah right. I'm going to hang on to it for a while"
Shizun let out a pained groan. Did she not see the amount of trouble she could get into? It was important to Kairos dammit! He would punish them right? And get mad, and ...
"Oh"
"What is it Yaya?"
"It opened"
Sure enough. With a little click the watch opened up at the necromancers touch. Underneath the ticking hands, golden cogs whirred and spinned.


This is the beginning of a short story I am going to do about Yaya. Hopefully it will be posted soon.
